Nah i probably shouldn't run it either as the g/box needs a service Sad
Although my custom tune has all the settings in the box to how i want it .... like how long it takes to engage gears, rpms it shifts at etc etc. If i do put it on i'm not expecting huge numbers as most mods so far have been the setup of the car to run big numbers later on. One of the most important mods i have done so far was the brakes as i'm aiming for 400rwkw and i need to be able to stop.

I think it'd pull 230-240rwkw at the moment but if i put in a 2800 rpm convertor (as the stock one is around 1800 rpm) I should be able to run a mid to low 12. Current setup is good for maybe a 12.7 -12.9 depending on the night. But then again I don't intend to race my car "often" maybe i'll take it to willowbank 2 or 3 times at different stages of the mods but i don't like to thrash it. It's just good to have the power there if you really want to use it and by not thrashing it all the time things don't break and need to be fixed thus enabling more money for future mods cheers

Anyhow i think i went OT myself a bit there

Well i missed out on the dyno day. I may still be going to have a look although watching cars on a machine is far less exciting than seeing them at the track so i may turn up towards the end to have a look see before i head off for steaks and beers with the guys from ls1 forums.

Re: Smokiebbear's VX SS II Hyper Yellow

I figured i'd post my other current rides also.

So here is the "Racing Magna"
Bits'a'Missin Magna Elite 94 Model 2.6l 4cyl Auto
Electric Everything
150,000kms

The Aprilia
2005 DiTech Fuel Injected 2 stroke 50cc
Leo Vinci custom exhaust
Custom ecu remap
9,000kms

LX Torrie
I sold this baby 4 years ago before i brought my SS (biggest mistake ever)
Mild 308
650 Holley
Full Zorst
M21 4spd etc etc

The pic doesn't do it justice as it had been sitting in the shed for 2 months when i took these pics. Was resprayed just before i sold it yet i cant find the pics anywhere. I think they were on my old pc which died Sad

I ride the Aprilia everyday as it costs me around $6 petrol per 250-300kms so more than likely if anyone is ever on the coast and sees me i'll be on this.

The Magna is for when it rains so i don't get wet on the way to work. Any other day the missus uses it.

The Torana was a real weapon. Could barely keep that thing in a straight line in the dry.

And i drive my Dunnydore maybe 20kms a week, mostly Sundays if its not raining as it's near impossible to keep traction in the rain. Or if i have a cruise or something to go to then i may use it. Sometimes i go a month without driving it as i'm trying to keep the kms down and the thing in perfect working order for when i get some serious mods on it. And if some bugger hits me and they write off my car my insurance will only give me 27k for it and i don't know anywhere you can buy a VX SS II with leather and 60,000km on it in this colour for under $22,000 that is in as good condition with absoultely no problems and in perfect working order (as when something brakes or needs replacement i do it straight away). Let alone the mods .... The rims, brakes and tyres would actually cost about $14,000+ to replace let alone the other mods on there so thats why i don't like to take it out too much.

I also used to own a TA22 Celica with a twin turbo 2JZ-FSE and a Holden Gemini that was stock as a rock (first car ever) but that was so long ago i don't know where the pics of them are

Once i finish building the engine in the SS i'll be getting another Torrie, probably just buy a show car with about 60k thrown at it for 20k once the owner is looking for a new project.

Anyhow thems my other rides Twisted Evil

Aprilias make the fastest 50cc scooters available, and they come with all the good stuff like big brakes, electronic dash, fuel injection etc. The best thing is you only need a car licence to ride them. I have had it to 93kmh so far on a slight downhill and can get 85kmh an hour easily on straight lines. Not bad for a scooter that came out stock at 70kmh.

Yeah it's a bit scary. The reason i brought it was for work and it's great for the 20km round trip every day. Most i usually get it up to is 60 to 80kmh depending on the way i take to work. But it's so damn cheap to run. Cost me $3 in petrol last week Very Happy
