It's booked in for the 7th of April and i pick it up on the 11th. I'm pretty peeved about it as you could imagine. The money i have to spend on this I was going to spend on a gearbox service next week and hopefully get out to WIllowbank. I'm not driving it until i need to get it fixed now as i dont want something else to happen to it outside of my control. There is also a slight dint in the passenger door which they are popping out for $50. And this is what i get for helping out a workmate as her gearbox blew up on monday and only reason i was driving my car is becasue i was giving her a lift to work. Otherwise i would have been going a different road and on my scooter!

Well i decided to go to Willowbank tonight (spur of the moment). Track temp was around 30C all night so the times were suffering bad for everyone. Anyhow i managed 3 runs at 13.4 with 2.1 second 60 footers. Tyres were at 38psi and car was full weight even had 3/4 tank of fuel. This was my first time out at the drags so i was just being really cautious. All 3 runs that resulted in 13.4@106-107mph were just from idle punching it off the line. One run i did have it at 1800rpm for launch with no burnout before the run and i was absolutely sideways at half track. That resulted in a 14.9:( haha.... Anyhow next time out i will be runnin 20 psi in the rears and only have 1/4 tank fuel and i will also be stalling it up to around 1600 rpm (as still stock 1800rpm converter) and i should be able to get a high 12 if i can improve on my terrible 60 foot times. Couple more months with colder weather and i ahould be in the high 12's easily once i get used to it. Here are vids of 2 runs ..... Yes i stuffed up my stage in the 2nd one. As said first time out tonight ....

See the wheelspin from the line .... scary stuff ... the camera doesn't give a true indication of how sideways i was.

Second on is a me against a ute.

I won 3 of 4 races tonight and only lost the other due to excessive wheelspin etc etc.

I will post a few more videos tomorrow

I think the links open in a different window otherwise i will just put up the direct link when i get home as i'm at work again and can't access photobucket. yeah 13.4 is good for first out seeing as i didn't stall it up at all and running full street trim. Will see an easy 12 when the temps come down and i set up the car to race with less fuel in the tank and 20 psi in the rears. I need to get my 60 footers down to about 1.8 but trying to stall it up last night with 38psi in the rears resulted in the sideways till half track effort and a 2.559 second 60ft Sad As it was a spur of the moment thing we just rocked up and joined the line up for the track. Didn't think to change tyre psi etc. After the first race we decided to leave the full street setup and see what it was capable of as an everyday driver. Had the weather been better (cooler) i should have seen a 13.1 at least with that setup. Next time though it's game on ......
