unless those gold wheels are specially designed to add 1000kw to your wheels
Wen i had my 97 lancer we had a run and the 'ol astra beat me. I wanted to go faster so i did the smart thing and sold it. Just not worth modding a lancer engine unless u got an EVO

Ok to bring my back up....it's my opinion! I don't think there is ANY point 'modding' a lancer.
Second reason : He is on his p plates? He can't DO anything to the car, so why bother asking? And looks like he took my advice anyways, he wants a Silvia, good idea. You can get them n/a, i wouldn't PERSONALLY suggest it, but its still good to get used to rear wheel drive car.
I don't put my car on this forum cause hopefully it won't be my car for long, and i'm not all that interested in it. Nor do I claim my car has '1000'kw from my wheels...they are too heavy so it's slower! If you see it has 90kw atf!
Go ahead and ban me if you feel it necessary, but i feel my answer was honest and valid! and yes...i did beat you Beau haha!

Lol my wheels ya noob! Stop trying to read what you want to read!
But I still reckon you should go for another car, and wait till your on your opens and then you can start thinkin about going all out. Motor swaps are awesomly unique, but are also very long winded and expensive. The two friends of mine who have both done crazy engine swaps, took at least 2 years (is actually raod worthy too) and the others has been going for 2 years, and still not finished. Maybe save up your money untill your on your opens then see how far you can go with your money.

Re: Next stage for lancer
what about the obvious? decent extractors and a full length exhaust, 2inch or so, other than that there ain't much you could do wile keeping it P plate legal to get the power up, the king springs would be worth it too, ur car bounces like a rubber ball

I agree with fat tony, extractors are relatively cheap for the performance benefit and as you said u like your car and thats cool, but u have to admit the engine aint the best, but if you wanted to, being on your p's and all, keep ur visuals to a minimal and go port polished head, forged pistons and sports cam, all shit cops can't see unless they take off your rocker cover.
however, if you want a silvia, I am selling mine...

Re: Next stage for lancer
i think a silvia would be a smart purchase for a P plater, 2 ltr and rear wheel drive, or a impreza or a v-tec honda, theres a fair few choices that have decent potential so if you are after producig power then the best thing would be to sell your car and purchase one of the above athough if you are happy with the power ur car makes just leave it :]
if your engine ever blows or needs a rebuild you could put a 1.8 ltr in. not sure if the new 2ltrs would swap over or not.
theres other simple things you could do like replace the acordian looking hose between ur pod and throttle body with a smooth silicon peice, port and polish the throttle body/knife edge it. heat wrap your extractors, get light weight pullies, platinum spark plugs, custom leads, fully synthetic oil, 98 octane pump gas, earthing kit for your battery. remove ur air con if u wanna get hard core :p also remove any dead weight (spare tire, tools, only fill squirter bottle half way, remove rear seat) tighter spring will help with acceleration too, i think u shud do them next.
