Flip Flop Trunk for all cars !
Ingredients,
2x Srap Hinges 100mm, 2x Barrel Bolt locks
Because we have to remove the trunk lid, we have to remove the wiring loom, just unplug the boot latch wire and number plate lights ang pull out wiring loom through the hole
Mark up where u boot lid arms meet with the lid so its easy to align them again after
Undo the first bolt on each side, make sure u have a second person holding the other side of the lid when undoing the last 2 bolts.
Remove the boot and sit in a safe place
Place hinges on top of the arms and line them up square with the pivot point facing the rear of the car
Drill some self tapping screws to hold the bracket in place.
Get another person to help again lining up the arm once again where u marked with a marker over the top of the hinge u just screwed on.
Make sure it is square and screw a single screw into the bottom of hinge.
(this makes it easier to line up other side)
Make sure it pivits and the boot closes square
Note the boot does not close closest to the rear window, the boot must be in stock position to close properly which is why we install the barrel bolt locks. Screw in another screw on each hinge to finish the job.
Double check to see if the boot closes with the barrel bolts holding the arms, if it doesnt close tight, make sure hinge screws are tight and barrel bolt are secure and close as possible.
Re-install the wiring looms and lights and ur done
Looking good, remember u cant open and close the boot without the barrel bolts locked in place, this is more for show this mod, so for everyday use u prob wont use this mod, but if ya showing off ya sound system its looks awesome
ps: its not me in the pics...hahaha
but hope its easy, for any car.
Cheers
